CODE ENFORCEMENT (Ordinance) - Tom Turino, Phone: 412-331-4050, option 6
The Code Enforcement Officer enforces the long-standing rules for how each of us and our neighbors must maintain our respective properties. These regulations are to promote the health, safety and comfort of the citizens and visitors. Ordinances are changed from time to time by Stowe Township Commissioners to be more consistent with Pennsylvania State recommendations and have adopted the Property Maintenance Code. Please before you do any construction, reconstruction, excavation, fences, sheds, portable buildings, storage containers like PODS, dumpsters, pools, etc. please contact Code Enforcement for the most updated code and/or permit required and placing reflective cones for safety before you proceed to do anything.
All homes, private or rentals are required to have address numbers displayed on the front and back of home(s) and/or building(s) at least 4" numbers so in case of emergency, Police, Fire and Ambulance can find you. Change in use or occupancy require an Occupancy/Building Inspection and Tenant Registration on rental properties. Please, always check with Code Enforcement on latest updated Codes.
Code Enforcement also enforces all Vehicles including boats, campers, trailers, motorcycles, cars/trucks without current registration and or inspections and/or considered abandoned on Private Property, junk and trash. Trailers, boats, campers cannot be left on public streets unattached from vehicles. They may be towed away at owners' expense along with possible storage fees and citation issued.
