What is MS4?
An MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) is a system of storm drains, inlets, pipes, and related infrastructure owned or operated by a municipality that collects and conveys stormwater runoff. This runoff ultimately discharges into local waterways within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Stowe Township is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) to manage stormwater pollution under the MS4 program and applicable state and federal regulations.

- Helps reduce pollutants entering local streams and waterways
- Regulated under Pennsylvania Code Chapter 93 water quality standards
- Requires implementation of best management practices (BMPs)

Keep stormwater clean by avoiding:

- Soap, paint, and cleaning chemicals entering storm inlets
