Road Maintenance

The Stowe Township Department of Public Works maintains township-owned roads throughout the year. This includes paving and patching, pothole repair, snow and ice removal, storm drain upkeep, and signage. Private roads and state routes are not maintained by the Township.

Who Maintains Your Road

Not every road in Stowe Township is maintained by the Township.

  • Township roads are maintained by the Department of Public Works. This covers plowing, salting, pothole repair, and resurfacing.
  • State roads are maintained by PennDOT. If you see a pothole or road hazard on a state route, report it directly to PennDOT at 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623) or online at customercare.penndot.gov.
  • Private roads are the responsibility of the property owners they serve. The Township does not plow, salt, or repair private roads.
